About Anita Crites

After being raised in Enid, Anita earned a Vocal Performance scholarship and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Child Development and Family Relations degree. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

She pursued a career as a social worker, investigating child abuse and neglect for the Department of Human Services. However, when Anita became a field representative for the American Cancer Society, she traveled the state and learned the many treasures that make up Oklahoma. She earned the title of Mrs. Oklahoma where, as a spokesperson for the Beef Industry Council and volunteer for the Red Earth Festival, she gained an even deeper appreciation of what Oklahoma has to offer and its diverse peoples.

Anita went on to become a partner in Western Concepts Restaurant Group, successfully building and operating six restaurants in Oklahoma City on Western Ave. After selling her interests, she enjoyed volunteering in the community and became a passionate philanthropist. She is a long-time board member of Allied Arts and is involved in and supports various charities, including Catholic Charities, Other Options, Helper’s Club, the Ballet, and Oklahoma Football! 

Anita enjoys spending time with her fiancée and her grown kids and spouses: Ben, Jordan, Helen, Mary and Russell.
